UC Student Regent Roundtable Lunch
Monday, January 26, Noon-1 p.m., Student Success Center, Millberry Union 100, RSVP
UCSF students will have the opportunity to meet and speak with UC Student Regent Sonya Brooks and Regent-designate Miguel Craven to discuss ways in which the student regents could better advocate for UCSF. Lunch will be provided.
 
Community Blood Drive

Did you know that every blood donation saves 3 lives? The Graduate and Professional Student Association has partnered with student organizations to host at Community Blood Drive at Parnassus. GPSA Presents: The 13th Annual UCSF Formal

Join the Graduate & Professional Student Association for the annual semi formal all school gala and enjoy a night filled with dancing and a taco bar at one of the most classic San Francisco venues--the California Academy of Sciences! Tickets: $48 per ticket until January 15 / $60 per ticket after January 15.

UCSF Student and Alumni Mixer at SPARK Social SF

Enjoy a relaxed evening and dinner with fellow UCSF students and alumni at SPARK Social SF, an outdoor food truck park, beer/sangria garden, and community gathering space designed for fun times. All registrants will receive meal tickets for the food trucks and access to SPARK Social's Backstage area reserved just for UCSF. Co-sponsored by UCSF Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) and Alumni Association of UCSF (AAUCSF).

UCSF Cultural Night

The Graduate & Professional Student Association invites you to UCSF Cultural Night featuring cultural student organizations, various ethnic foods, and music. The evening will also include raffle prizes and selfie station. Must RSVP to be entered into raffle.
 
 

The State of the Academia: A Fireside Chat with UCSF Leadership 
Monday, December 1, 2-3:30 p.m. Millberry Union Conference Center 
Please join the Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) and the Science Policy Group (SPG) for an engaging discussion on the state of academia with Dr. Hal Collard, the UCSF Vice Chancellor of Research. This conversation will provide insight into the challenges and opportunities facing universities today and will offer a unique look into UCSF’s response to changes in research funding and higher education policy. Together, we’ll explore how universities can adapt, innovate, and imagine a better future for higher education. 

Conversation topics will include: 

  • The state of affairs in academia and research funding 
  • Proposed higher-education reforms and implications for universities Institutional strategy and UCSF’s response to funding changes 
  • Supporting student and trainee success amid a shifting political landscape Building a better future for academia
